The birth of The Reading Arts Mathematics Summer Enrichment Program by founder and CEO, Reverend Doctor Mary O. Stover, began from a restless night, where she received a vision to provide for the needs of children in the community. The RAM Foundation and the Reading Arts Mathematics Summer Enrichment Program have continued to develop into a foundation that provides and serves to address the academic, social, and wellness needs of underprivileged youths and their family in the Midlands of Richland County, South Carolina. The Foundation provides a FREE 6 week program of study of reading, mathematics, and science. Additionally, the students participate in the fine arts in the areas of ballet, violin, piano, drums, and the industrial arts. During this program, breakfast and lunch are also provided at no cost. The students also go on field trips Because the RAM Foundation is a foundation of provision and service, future endeavors are to include activities for senior citizens. The spectrum from youth to seniors will be complimentary in that each group will learn, assist, and support each other.
